About Us
The Secret to Our Success?
Autumn Mist Alpaca Farm was first started in 2003 when Jeff came home with some alpacas. Leslie wondered what they were! Within a week they were hooked and the herd was formed. With 4 girls and another on one the way and shearing time approaching the decision was made to add a fiber processing mill to the farm. In 2007 the last daughter joined the family and the farm and fiber mill were getting to be too much for Leslie to run alone. In 2006 Jeff joined the farm and mill fulltime and with a major move a couple of hours away to be closer to family a year later..fast forward 14 years and here we are! The farm and Fiber Mill have grown into more then a fulltime business for not only Jeff and Leslie but a few employees also! The farm now offers short and long term boarding, quarantine for export, birthing, several herdsires and consultation/mentoring. As the older girls all grew up, got married and started families of their own the two youngest girls Lily and Brea grew into the farm and help daily. Animals have expanded from alpacas to horses, donkeys, chickens, peacocks, turkeys, rabbits, pigs and more!
In 2020 the farm added agritourism into its offering and is now open to the public for tours! A farm store was added in 2021 and we just keep on growing both with the farm and the family! Grandchild number 5 will be arriving sometime in August and we couldn't be happier-more farm hands!
Jeff along with running the farm and fiber mill is the current President of the Empire Alpaca Association. He really enjoys working to better the association in a team effort with keeping the growth of the alpaca industry as it evolves.
